engage a diverse audience

Charities need volunteers, funders, donors, beneficiaries, clients, sector partners, and the media. Are you using your website to connect with them?

To engage with these diverse audiences charities must offer information but also the opportunity for dialogue. Charities must listen as well as speak.

“we saw a significant increase in volunteer applications through our new website” -Catherine Gladwell, Projects Manager, Refugee Support Network

Our service includes elements aimed specifically at reaching out to a wider range of users.

Highly accessible website design

All of our websites are built so that those with disabilities, visual impairment or learning difficulties can use them as easily as possible. This sometimes means making sacrifices, but we think it’s worth it.

White Fuse designed a user-friendly interface to allow Leicester University’s students to search and explore a wide range of available properties. The properties are all managed through a simple content management system.

User-focussed homepage design

Your homepage is a crucial part of your website. It must allow visitors to find what they are looking for quickly but it is also an opportunity to inform and persuade. We guide you through the process of analysing your target users and ensuring everyone is catered for.

Following a full re-brand and website re-design, EQUIP Network received over 20 applications for membership within the first two weeks.

Integrated social media strategy

Time is tight and social media channels can be time consuming. We address this problem by offering:

  • Automatic integration between your website content management system and social media channels
  • Strategic advice on how to use social media channels to best effect

Volunteer support areas

Our content management system allows you to set up areas of your site particularly for volunteers where they can login, see customised content and exchange comments.

We can also help you harness the power of your volunteer base to provide your website with content and promote discussion and idea-sharing.

Participatory project process

Why not get your clients involved in the website design process of your charity? Inviting creative input and brainstorming can really add richness to your website strategy and help maintain a participative ethos.

Single Homeless Project encourages the use of art and writing to deal with issues surrounding homelessness. The new SHP site has areas devoted to client art and interviews with clients. Clients are even given access to their own password protected part of the site where they can access up-to-date information and resources and post comments.

Measurable targets

Have you considered trying to measure ‘return on investment’ in your charity marketing strategy? This can be really tricky, but we can help you to engage with the issues and set measurable targets.
