E-mail newsletter solutions

E-mail newsletters are a great cheap way to promote your cause, sell more products or generate interest in your services. Here are a few simple pointers to get you on the way:

SPAM – if you send e-mail from your normal account to large numbers of people (either in one e-mail or over a short period of time) then your service provider may think you are sending spam and your e-mails may never reach their destination! For large e-mail lists consider a hosted provider.

FREE – there are a few options that are entirely free but can greatly assist the administration of small e-mail lists. Google Groups is easy to use, as is Yahoo! Groups.

CHEAP – Constant Contact, Vertical Response and iContact are all good quality providers of web-based e-mail software. You can simply upload your contacts, use the default templates, and send out e-mails in a few minutes. These packages provide really useful reports on who has opened your e-mail and which links they have clicked on.
